Freda Louise Wingard

Freda L. Mahler, 92, of Wellsboro, PA, formerly of Friedens, PA, died September 14, 2008 at Broad Acres Nursing Home, Wellsboro, PA.

She was born November 3, 1915 in Davidsville, PA, the daughter of Ammon and Hettie (Kaufman) Wingard.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; brothers, John, Paul and Orie Wingard and sisters, Minnie Miller and Eva Wagner.

She is survived by her children, Robert Mahler of Somerset, PA, Caroline Mahler of Margate, FL, Larry Mahler of Brentwood, TN, Linda Duppstadt of Tennessee; Katherine and her husband, Kim Metzgar of Wellsboro, PA, Darlene and her husband, Glenn Klink of Friedens, PA, Wanda Elsea of Staunton, VA and Connie Crum of Matamoras, PA; 16 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

She was the sister of Robert Wingard of Friedens, PA and Willard Wingard of Johnstown, PA.

She attended Reading Grace Brethren Church, Stoystown, PA and she enjoyed playing bingo and gardening.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., today, Wednesday, September 17 at Deaner Funeral Home, 133 E. Main St., POB 555, Stoystown, PA.

Viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 18 at Reading Grace Brethren Church with the Rev. Larry R. Weigle officiating. Interment will be in Lambertsville Cemetery.
