Maternal grandfather of actress/comedian Lucille Ball. He helped to raise Lucy and her brother after their father died. They were so close Lucy always referred to him as "daddy", even after she was grown. After Lucy moved to Hollywood and started making a name for herself, she moved him and the rest of her family out to be with her. He died three years after Lucy wed Desi Arnaz.
