Frieda Schiff

Frieda & her 2 daughters, Carol & Sherry, also lived in Akron, Ohio when I was a child. Frieda was divorced from her husband, Oscar Fidelholtz, who later remarried. Frieda's sister Fanny also lived with her. Now that I am older, I understand how we were all related and how they were related. Frieda's daughters & their friends were very cruel to Fanny. Frieda herself treated Fanny like a housekeeper. Tiny Fanny was of low intellect. Today, we would categorize her with mild to moderate mental retardation. Eventually, she placed Fanny at a State Institution, the cruelest setting in those days. My mother& Frieda did not like one another - barely tolerated being in the same areas! I never knew why. I thought Frieda was a real witch when I was a child! She scared me! She did remarry long after her divorce from Oscar but I do not remember his name. I do remember that he was a nice guy.
