About Fritz Gottschalk

Fritz Gottschalk was born in Berlin, Germany in 06/05/1895 to Heinrich and Emma nee Weinberg. He was an electrical engineer and married Hertha. Prior to WWII he lived in Pforzheim, Karlsruhe, Baden, Germany.

Fritz Gottschalk was a member of the Jewish community. During World War I (1914-1918) he was front-line fighters. As an engineer he came in 1934 to company SEL. He lived with his wife Hertha Gottschalk nee Wolff, in Scharnhorststraße 11, in 1940 forcibly ghettoized in the house in Bertholdstraße 4, the so-called "Jewish house". The couple was deported on 22.10.1940 to the southern French internment camp Gurs. On 16 September 1942, the Nazis deported Fritz Gottschalk to Auschwitz extermination camp, where they murdered him in 1943. His wife murdered in 1942 in Auschwitz. During the war he was in France.
