DEATH: Note: Gabrial's wife Nancy is buried next to their son Manford in the Ritchie Cemetery, Breathitt Co., Ky. Manfords wife Nancy (Caudill) Ritchie is also buried there. Gabrial's wife and his son died during the Influenza Epidemic that swept the world and killed 21 million people. Gabrial is listed on the 1850 census for Perry Co., Kentucky as age 37, making his birth year 1813. He was a farmer, land value $800.00. His wife Nancy was 31 yrs old. The children born to him were as follows: Alexander age 14, listed as an idiot, Dicy age 12, Squire age 11, Andrew age 9, Gabrial age 6, Henry age 4, Manford age 1. The census also stated that Gabrial could read & write but his wife could not. 1851 this family traveled from Kentucky to Madison Co., Arkansas. But in 1852 they returned to Kentucky. Sometime later, Gabrial's son Gabrial H. and a daughter Eliza Jane moved to Madison Co., Arkansas. Information received that in 1874 Gabrial had traveled back to Madison Co., Arkansas to visit family and while he was visiting his daughter Eliza Jane he died and was buried in Madison Co., Ark.
