Birth: Jul. 24, 1945 Moorhead Clay County Minnesota, USADeath: Oct. 26, 2004 Fargo Cass County North Dakota, USA Gail Marie Carney was born July 24, 1945, to Thomas "Bus" and Julia (Skjaret) Carney, in Moorhead, MN. Gail was raised in Moorhead where she attended St. Joseph's Catholic School. She graduated from Moorhead High School in 1963.

Following graduation, Gail moved to California where she worked for an insurance agency. She returned to Moorhead in 1967 and worked for Prudential Life Insurance Company for ten years.

Gail was married to James Cain of Moorhead, on January 27, 1968, in Moorhead, and they made their home in Fargo, Moorhead, and Dilworth, MN. Gail went to work for Roffe Container, Moorhead, in 1986, as their office manager and was there until August of 2004.

With her family by her side, Gail died Tuesday, October 26, 2004, in MeritCare Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, at fifty-nine years of age.

Gail is lovingly survived by her husband, Jim, Moorhead; sons, Brian (Brenda), Fargo, and Scott, Moorhead; brothers and sisters, Jerry (Bette) Carney, John (LaVaughn) Carney, and Mary (Roger) Arnseth, all of Moorhead, Barb Carney, Virginia Beach, VA, Mike (Nancy Hoff) Carney, Perley, MN, Joe (Jennifer) Carney, Fargo, Julienne (Ron) Roufs, Willmar, MN, and Patty (Ray) Brasel, Bertha, MN; sister-in-law, Karan Carney, Moorhead; twenty-three nieces and nephews; twenty-five great-nieces and great-nephews and one great-great-nephew.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Tom "Buddy" Carney.

Visitation for Gail will be Friday, October 29, 2004 from 5 – 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 218 – 10th St. S., Moorhead.

The funeral Mass will be Saturday, October 30, 2004, at 10 AM, in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 601 – 15th Ave N., Moorhead.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
