During the time that Galfrid/Galfred and his Father Mainfred/Manfred spent with Rollo in the Province of Maen in Normandy, the family adopted the name Percy.

The Peerage of England containing a genealogical and Historical account of ... (p.305) Percy of Northumberland states that Galfred/Geffrey who took part in the year 911, an expedition into the province of Normandy. Geoffrey was baptized one year later at Artois in 912.

In the year 912 Rollo and companion Geoffrey (Galfred) conquered or subjugated the area now known as Perci Village in Villedieu. The first Peri home established there was known as "Chateau de Perci". Percy-en-Auge France is the ancestral home of the Percy's, a commune in Calvados in the northwestern part of France.

The name Galfred or Galfrid according to Wikipedia is an Old Norse name with Danish Roots. The French version of Galfrid is Geoffrey.
