Galfridus Le Veyle

GALFRIDUS LA VEYLE (Galfridus Vitdulus, Geoffrey Veel, Jeffrey le Veal), son of Peter la Veyle and Mathilda, was alive during the reign of King John (1199-1216) and received the King's affirmation (signed confirmation) in 1205/6.

Galfridus married MAUD (Matilda) who was born around 1125-30. She was the daughter of either ELIAS FITZ HARDING (aka Berkeley) of Huntingford, County Gloucester, or of his brother ROBERT FITZ HARDING "THE DEVOUT," who died 5 February 1170/1.

Galfridus and Maud had the following children: Henry le Veal; Robert, who had a son Robertus Vele; and William Vele.
