Gayle McKee

Gayle (Deckard) McKee, 81, Heltonville, died at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Bloomington Hospital.

Born in Monroe County, she was the daughter of Harley and Bertha (Grubb) East. She married Harley C. Deckard, and he preceded her in death. She then married Robert D. McKee and he preceded her in death.

She was a retired inspector from Sarkes Tarzian Corp. and a member of Old Chapel Hill Pentecostal Church.

Surviving are two daughters: Patricia Scott and Donetta May Deckard, both of Bloomington; two sons: Jerry E. Deckard and Clyde G. Deckard of Unionville; one stepdaughter: Mary Deckard of Bedford; one brother: John East of Seymour; 23 grandchildren; 52

great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters: Mona Sego and Shirley Deckard; one stepson: Delmar McKee; three brothers: including her twin brother Dale East and James and Oman East; two sisters: Betty Francis and Letha Wisley; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary. Greg Eads will officiate. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
