On May 13 1847 Geesje Wiljelmina Maria Eksteen married Hendrik Cloete in the Dutch Reformed Church in Wynberg. She was from Kirstenbosch and he was from Stellenberg. He was 28 and she was 20

An inscription on her grave in the Dutch Reformed Cemetery, Wynberg, states IN MEMORY OF GEESJE MARIA WILHELMINA CLOETE BORN EKSTEEN BELOVED WIFE OF H. CLOETE DIED 10TH DEC 1897 AFTER A HAPPY UNION OF 56 YEARS AND SIX MONTHS (56 may have been mistranscribed for 50)

Her husband's death notice states his wife died on 10 December 1897. He is the son of Sebastiaan Valentijn Cloete and Maria Van Renen.

Geesje Wilhelmina Maria daughter of Dirk Gysbertus Eksteen and Geesje Wilhelmina b 1816, the daughter of Sebastiaan Valentijn Cloete.

Both are mentioned in the 1832 will of Geesje Wilhelmina Cloete, widow of Jacob Van Reenen MOOC8/48.39 In the will wearing apparel is bequeathed to Geesje Wilhelmina daughter of Sebastiaan Valentyn Cloete. An Indian shawl is bequeathed to Geesje Wilhelmina Maria, daughter of her sister Anna Catharina Cloete married to Dirk Gysbert Eksteen.

There is also a Geesje Wilhelmina Eksteen, b 1819, the daughter of Petrus Michiel Eksteen.
