Geminiano de Ocampo

Geminiano "Mining" Tiongson de Ocampo is the Father of Modern Ophthalmology in the Philippines. Born on Sept. 16, 1907, he was an outstanding ophthalmologist who set up the first eye hospital in the Philippines and also helped establish the Philippine Eye Research Institute and Philippine Ophthalmological Society. De Ocampo was named a National Scientist in 1982.
