General Sir Neville Gerald Lyttelton, GCB, GCVO, PC (28 October 1845 – 6 July 1931) was a British Army officer from the Lyttelton family who served against the Fenian Raids, and in the Anglo-Egyptian War, the Mahdist War and the Second Boer War. He was Chief of the General Staff at the time of the Haldane Reforms and then became Commander-in-Chief, Ireland.

General Rt. Hon. Sir Neville Gerald Lyttelton was born on 28 October 1845. He was the son of George William Lyttelton, 4th Lord Lyttelton, Baron of Frankley and Mary Glynne. He married Katherine Sarah Wortley, daughter of Rt. Hon. James Archibald Stuart Wortley, on 1 October 1883. He died on 6 July 1931 at age 85.
General Rt. Hon. Sir Neville Gerald Lyttelton fought in the Canada Campaign in 1866. He fought in the Jowaki Expedition in 1877. He fought in the Egypt Campaign in 1882. He was Assistant Military Secretary between 1897 and 1899. He fought in the Nile Expedition in 1898. He gained the rank of Major-General in 1899 in the service of the Infantry Brigade Aldershot. He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1900. He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in 1900.1He was Colonel of the Rifle Brigade. He was commander of the forces in South Africa between 1903 and 1904. He was invested as a Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.) in 1907. He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1908. He held the office of Commander-in-Chief of Ireland between 1908 and 1912. He was invested as a Knight Grand Cross, Royal Victorian Order (G.C.V.O.) in 1911.1 He was a Commissioner of the Duke of York's Royal Military School between 1919 and 1931. He lived at Bell Hall, Belbroughton, Worcestershire, England.
