About Genevieve “Jincy” Anderson

Name and Origins

Louisa Battiest was born ABT 1780 in Choctaw Nation-East.

From Comments at https://gulfcoastlagniappe.blogspot.com/2012/07/surname-saturday-an...

6. Daniel was still living 1860 census. Jincy was never listed on 1850 or 1860 census but. is confirmed living in 1855/1856. Never confirmed Jincy as Mischa/Mischou etc, but found her as Genevieve (Jenny) as her father was French. I have most of Jincy's siblings & their families. Have talked to many of them in OK.

Notes

In truth we do have Choctaw ancestry. There was a Daniel Austin Anderson who married a Choctaw woman, except her name was Michou Battiest, not Running Deer.

The Anderson Line

Daniel Austin Anderson and Michou Battiest (aka Jenny or Jincy) beget John E. Anderson

From https://www.genealogy.com/forum/surnames/topics/pushmataha/81/

Mr. Anderson states that "we also know that a Daniel Anderson migrated to the Mississippi Territory, married a Choctaw woman, and subsequently lived among the members of the Choctaw Tribe in the Mississippi Territory as evidenced by the information contained in the ARMSTRONG ROLL OF 1830-which listed Daniel A., Joseph, John, and Daniel A. Anderson, Jr. as residing in the LeFlores District of those lands ceded to the United States by the Choctaw by the Treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek. Mr. Anderson believes that this is the same Daniel Anderson identified by the deed that he referenced before concerning Joseph Anderson on the Tombigbee River. He goes on to state that he is unable to establish a connection between this Anderson family and the Perry County Andersons.

Are we sure her parentage is right? Nettachea doesn't look Choctaw. Nitachi might be.
