Genevieve Rita Vantino

Genevieve R. Vantino, formerly of Kenmore, died March 18 in Baywind Village Care Center, League City, Texas, after a brief illness. She was 72.

Born Genevieve Coulis in Welland, Ont., she later became a U.S. citizen.

She moved to the Buffalo area with her family as a teenager, and she and her husband raised their four children in Kenmore.

In 1991, she moved to League City to be near her daughter Mary.

Mrs. Vantino was passionate about health food and herbal supplements.

Her husband, Frank, died in 1999.

Survivors include another daughter, Mindy Fantasia of Bowie, Md.; two sons, Mark of Bremerton, Wash., and Michael of North Tonawanda; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be scheduled in the Buffalo area.
