BIOGRAPHY Georg was the son of Matthäus Teuffel, Herr von Krottendorf und Gundersdorf, and Appollonia Mallinger. With his wife Josephine or Justina von Windisch-Graetz, daughter of Siegfried, Herr von Windisch-Graetz, and Afra Grasswein, he had a son Michael and daughter Elisabeth who would have progeny.
From 1566 to his death in 1578 Georg was the third president of the _Hofkriegsrat,_ succeeding Gebhard, Freiherr von Welzer. The _Hofkriegsrat_ was the Court Council of War of the Habsburg monarchy, founded in 1556 as a council of men with military experience who could take charge of the army and its needs, in both war and peacetime.
