George Gladfelter/Gladfelder/Clodfelter/ Clodfelder was the seventh of eleven known children of John Gladfelter/Clodfelter (1751-1826) and Catharina Zinc/Sink Clodfelter (1755-1829), who married on or about 08 Sep 1771.
George married Barbara Rothrock (1783-1820) on 19 Mar 1808 at Stokes (now Forsyth) County, North Carolina. Many records show Barbara died 17 Mar 1821, though the Moravian and her grave marker records 1820, which I will use. Note that Barbara's grave marker reads Gladfelter, though George and her children appeared to transition to the more modern Clodfelter. However George's grave marker reads Clodfelder (sic). It is not believed that George ever remarried after Barbara died.
George and Barbara were the parents of five known children, namely:
1. Luisa/Louisa Gladfelter/Clodfelter (1808-???) 2. Joseph Gladfelter (1810-1810) 3. Lydia Gladfelter Fishel (1812-1892) 4. Christina Gladfelter Snider (1814-1884) 5. Jeremias Gladfelter (1818-???)
Nothing is known of Luisa/Louisa or Jeremias, did they die young?
Some records list Daniel Clodfelter (1819-1898), who married Phebe Jane Newsome, as a child of this family. Can anyone confirm this?
