COWAN—In this city, January 18, 1918, George Cowan, sr., father of Mrs. Thomas Frazier, Daniel Cowan of Pitts - burgh. Mrs. Walter Summer of New York city, George and James Cowan of this city.

Funeral from the residence of his son, George Cowan, 19 Cross Street, Tuesday morning at 9 o'clook; thence to St. Michael's Church, where a requiem high mass will be sung. Friends are invited to attend. Burial at St. Mary's Cemetery.

—The funeral of George Cowan, sr., was held this morning from St. Michael's Church. Rev. M. A. Sheridan officiated at a requiem high mass. The bearers were Michael Manning, James Donnelly, William Flynn, William O'Connor. Edward Hogan, Lawrence Owens, Peter Shaughnessy and Thomas V. Harrington.
