Listed as member of Spring Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Putnam Co., TN as "dismissed by letter," 1830. The church was organized in 1826 and George and Fanny were listed as members at that time. Putman County was formed partly from Overton County in 1854.

George married Frances HANCOCK, daughter of William HANCOCK and Martha HENDERSON, on 1 Mar 1812 in Jackson Co, TN. Frances was born on 4 Jan 1796 in Laurens Co, Sc. She died on 9 Jan 1875 in Clear Creek Twp, Monroe Co, IN. She was buried in Mt Salem Cem, Clear Creek Twp, Monroe Co, IN.

Parents were William and Martha Hancock of Laurens County, SC. Mother died when Fanny was 2; father died when she was 5.
