He married Mary Whitlock on 6 Jan 1763 in St James Northam, Goochland, Va. Mary Whitlock was born about 1738 in , of Goochland Co, Va.

George patented land in Botetourt Co., VA along Catawba Creek which runs through Botetourt and Roanoke Counties near the Craig Co. line.

They had the following children:

1. Mathew Hancock was christened 8 Apr 1764 in St James Northam, Goochland, Va.
2. Martha Hancock was born 11 Jul 1769 in , Goochland Co, Va.
3. Mary Hancock was born 1770 in , Goochland Co, Va.
