George Henkes, 79, of 3032 N. Main street, died this morning at St Mary's hospital. Mr. Henkes was born in Germany June 28, 1859. He came to Racine in 1892, settling on a farm on N. Main street in 1899. He farmed for many years. Mr. Henkes is survived by three daughters, Sister M. Clarine of Merrill, Mrs. O. F. Feest of Racine and Mrs. L. M. Mullen of,Delavan; three sons, Peter, George, Jr., and Joseph, Racine; one brother, John, Germany, and 22 grandchildren. Mr. Henkes was a member of St. John's Catholic church and the Sacred Heart and Holy Name societies." Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 8:30 a. m. in the residence, and at 9 a. m. in St. John's Catholic church. Rosary will be said at 8 p. m. Monday at the residence. The body may be viewed Sunday afternoon and until service time at the residence. Rev. A. G. Weiler will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery.
