note from Lin Finger -For what it's worth- the birth record for their first child says Geo was born in Kempen, Germany and his wife in Courland, Russia.. This may be wrong, since his birthplace is also listed elsewhere as Denver.. Or I can easily imagine asking a brand new first time father for the "father's birthplace" and listing HIS parent's birthplace, instead of his own. On the other hand, I have seen a tendency in immigrant children to claim birth here even though clearly they were not. It was probably a lot easier than having to keep track of Naturalization papers. Courland could easily have been his wife's birthplace. Married March 15, 1913, in St Joseph, Indiana. Clearly states he was born in Germany
