Otterbein Cemetery has Infant of George and Mary. The family settled in Gauley in the 1800's. George owned land on the Williams River in Nicholas County,Virginia. They came from what is now Webster County in 1820 and settled in Gilmer County on Lynch Run which is named after them. They acquired a considerable amount of land, part by grant of the Commonwealth of Virginia. George Lynch was appointed as one of the Commissioners to Superintend the first election after the formation of Gilmer County. He was a Justice of the Peace. The family moved from the Williams River area of Nicholas County, Virginia to present day at Gilmer County, West Virginia. Present day Gilmer County 1820 on Little Kanawha River a few miles up stream from Glenville.
