George Mackey obit.
George Mackey, the eldest son of Wm. and Elizabeth Mackey, was born 28 Oct 1858 at Seghill, England where four years of his childhood were spent. In 1862, he came with his parents to Sharon, Pennsylvania. Two years later, the family moved to Ohio, where the remainder of his life was spent. On Jan. 1, 1880, he was married to Emma Treat at Fredericksburg, Ohio by Rev. Thomas Struggles. To this union, 14 children were born, 3 of whom died in infancy. Mr. Mackey died at his home in Silver Creek on Tues. Sept. 3, 1912 at the age of 53 years, ? monthe, and 5 days after a lingering illness of several years caused by a tumor on the brain. He is survived by a wife, 11 children, 4 grandchildren, mother, 3 brothers, and 1 sister. Funeral services were held from (___) late residence at Silver Creek Tuesday afternoon at 2:00. Rev. W.S. Shelly officiating. Burial was made at Doylestown.From Wadsworth Banner Press, Thursday Sept. 12, 1912.
