About George Albert Nickes Nix

10 iv. George Albert NIX, born Sep 04, 1754 in Camden, York Co., SC; died Abt. 1832 in York Co., SC. He married Margaret LYONS.

Notes for George Albert NIX:

George is mentioned in his father's will.

Many researchers have his birth as 1754. They also have his father as Edward and mother as Unice Nero Gibson.

There are various trees either showing Edward being born 1686 or 1723, If Edward was born in 1686 and George was born in 1754, then Edward was 68 when George was born. I tend to doubt this. If Edward was born 1723 and George was born 1754, Edward was 31 when George was born. More realistic.

I believe many trees have a missing generation. If the birth information is accurate for children supposedly belonging to Edward and Unice Gibson, with these children being born in the 1750's and Edward being born 1686, something is wrong. I doubt these children beling to Edward and Unice. They may be grandchildren or Edward's yearof bith is wrong at being in 1686.

If Edward was actually born in 1723, then his father would not have been James who was born in 1642. If Edward was born in 1723, this would mean his father James was 81 when he was born. I tend to not believe he fathered children this late in life. If Edward was born in 1686 and his father was James, who was born in 1642, then James was 44 when he was born. I would tend to believe this.
