GEORGE PEARCE was born in England, and died April 09, 1705 in Isle of Wight Co., VA. He married ANN. George, a blacksmith by trade, came from Bristol, England to "Nanzemon Towne" in Lancaster County, Virgina. Here his name appears on a land grant dated June 2, 1664. On August 12, 1675, Robert Lawrence, Jr., deeded to George Pearce, Smith of Nansemone, 300 acres of land by Beaver Dam Swamp in Isle of Wight County, Virginia. In the years following, he acquired several thousand acres of land by patent and deeds of sale. His will was appraised by Arthur Whitehead, William Johnson, and Henry Pope.

1681 April 23, Will and Deed Book 1, pp. 468-469. George Peirce received 400a on the branches of the Blackwater in Isle of Wight County. Bounds: Mr. Achley?s line, Phillip Rayford, and said Peirce?s land by a former survey. Land was due for transport of 8 persons (not named in this record). George (GT) Peirce and Anne (U) Peirce assigned all right and title to this land to John and Thomas Williams. Witness: Thomas (T) Jones. Acknowledged in open court on 10 October 1681. Anne relinquished her dower right. Deed recorded 10 October 1681.

1724 January 23, Deeds, Wills, . . ., Great Book Vol. 2, 1715-1726, p. 693. Philip Pierce, Sr., and Sarah (his wife) of the upper parish sold 100a to John Teasley of the lower parish. Bounds: William Johnson. Land was part of a patent for 2005a [?] granted George Pierce. Signed Phillip (X) Pierce. Witnesses: Richard (X) Pierce and George (X) Pierce. George Pearce, a blacksmith by trade, sailed for the New World. He probably sailed from Bristol, England, since records indicate that all George Pearces who were immigrants except one who went to Barbados and then to America) seemed to have sailed form Bristol. . .George Pearce, the blacksmith, came first to ?Nanzemon Towne? in Lancaster County, Virginia. Here his name, along with others, appears on a land grant dated June 2, 1664. On August 12, 1675, Robert Lawrence, Jr., deeded to George Pearson, smith of Nansemond, 300 acres of land by Beaver Dam Swamp in Isle of Wight, Virginia.
