About George Sterling Race
George Race was first born to George Race and LaVerne Reese Williams Race. He and his brother, Robert, spent their pre-teen/teen years after their father's death at the Hersey School for Boys in Hershey, PA where they did their schooling while working the farm until age 18 which was during the Depression prior to World War I. When he was 18 years he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was a test pilot until his death during one of his flights from the South-West U.S. He was buried in Dallas, PA along side of his father. He was never married.
