Other Families
There appear to be three distinct Robinson families living in Russell County, Virginia in the early 19th century. (1) Samuel Robinson, Senior and his sons were living in the Elk Garden area in southern Russell County near Clinch Mountain. (2) Samuel's brother George Robinson and his sons, Samuel and John, were living in the northern section of the county, known as New Garden, near the Big A Mountain and between Thompson and Lewis creeks. (3) Littleberry Robinson and his relations were living in the Castles Wood (now Castlewood) area in the south west portion of the county.
