George P. Sellers, Former State Legislator, Dies Here

George P. Sellers Sr., 62, prominent Phoenix businessman and former legislator, died of a heart attack Sunday at his home, 6820 N. 14th St.

Mr. Sellers came to Arizona in 1926, and lived in Casa Grande until 1933, when he moved to Phoenix.
He was a representative from Pinal County in the 11th Legislature in 1932-1933. In Phoenix he was a partner with W. J. Murphy and Sellers Realtors at 3625 N. Seventh St.

Mr. Sellers was a trustee of the Covenant Presbyterian Church, a 32nd Degree Mason, member of El Zaribah Temple, the Shrine Band, and the Hiram Club.

Surviving are his wife, Marjorie, of Phoenix; a son George P. Sellers Jr., of Phoenix; two daughters, Mrs. Burton P. Porter Jr., of Santa Ana, Calif., and Mrs. J. Paul Jones Jr., of Long Beach, Calif.: four brothers, two sisters, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1-:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Covenant Presbyterian Church. The Rev. L. T. Knotter, pastor, and the Masonic Funeral Committee will officiate. Burial will be in Memory Lawn Memorial Park.
