About George Taylor, Sr.
George, at age 20, was one of 152 passengers aboard tthe ship "George" that departed London for VA, on August 21, 1635, with Ship Master Jo Severne. Per VA Colonial Abstracts by Bev Fleet - In 1653, George was on the Crotoman River in Lancaster Co., VA, adj. Henry Lee, where he was a justice and had a 542 acre farm. George bound out two sons, John and Richard. Per Southern Taylor Families 1607*1830 by Alb. Casey in 1958 - In 1673, Rebecca Tomlin and Taylor, dec'd, a deed gift to George Taylor, George was sheriff, justice, and burgess of what would be Richmond County. He was elected justice of the peace in 1673. His will was probated on 10/3/1688 in Rappahannock County, VA.
