George "The Elder" Ash

The Ash family Bible as well as residence and name patterns of Ashs residing in New England, indicate that the Ash ancestor who emigrated to America from Leek, Staffordshire, England, was George Ash the Elder, born about 1665. This information indicated that George Ash the Elder was the grandfather of the George Ash who married Hannah Grover. The discovery of a George Ash residing in Hartford, Connecticut, in 1731, indicates that he was the son of the immigrant who first appears in Hartford in 1682.
