Georgia Ann Rushing (a) was born on July 25, 1834 (b) with her twin sister, Caroline, in Bulloch County, Georgia, daughter of William Grayson & Mary "Pollie" (Bert) Rushing.

In the Rushing family, she is the sister of Mary Ann; (her twin) Caroline; William Tillman; John Berrian; James Burton; Martha; Susan and Calvin Harrison Rushing.

On December 29, 1853, she married Peter G. Dickerson in Bulloch County. Their children include Julia Ann (1855), Georgia Ann (1857), Ann E. (1859), Amorine L. (1861), James L. (1866), William S. (1869) and E. L. (1873) Dickerson.

On December 6, 1912, Georgia Ann (Rushing) Dickerson, age 78, passed away with burial in the First Baptist Cemetery, Glennville, Tattnall County, Georgia.

Footnotes: (a) Her first name unclearly seems spelled Georgian (maybe pronounced Georgie Ann) on her gravestone, but most references spell as Georgia Ann, as is her daughter's name. (b) She noted her year of birth as 1833 on her pension application, but an early school list along with her gravestone has 1834. The school list has different day of birth as July 20, her gravestone appears to be July 26, while other references note July 19, 1834.
