He was a native of Harrison County, Ind., a retired supervisor for the U.S. Census Bureau in Jeffersonville, Ind., and a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors: his wife, the former Catherine Curley; five daughters, Barbara Hawkins of Owensboro, Jacalyn Rager and Tina and Jeri Leigh Pease, all of Clarksville, Ind., and Julie Cunningham of Elizabeth, Ind.; a stepson, Jerome Welsh of Georgetown, Ind.; two stepdaughters, Patricia Byrnes of Fisherville and Mary Welsch Owen of Nashville, Tenn.; three sisters, Mary Ann O'Bryan and Ruby Zurschmiede, both of Sellersburg, Ind., and Martha Deutsch of New Albany; three brothers, Paul Pease of Elizabeth, Carl Pease of Clemmons, N.C., and John Pease of Laconia; 15 grandchildren; and a great- grandchild. Funeral: 11 a.m. Thursday, Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home, Corydon, Ind. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery, Corydon. Visitation: 8 a.m.-9 p.m. Wednesday.
