- It appears they moved from Gretna, Manitoba about 1900 to Sunnyslope, Alberta shortly after their marriage and then to Dallas, Oregon in about 1906. In 25 Aug 1905 he homesteaded SW1/4 Sec 14 T31N R26, about one mile west of Sunnyslope, Alberta, next to the Franz F. Kliewer homestead. The 1910 Census say he was living with his father-in-law in Dallas, Oregon along with his wife and 5 kids. The 1920 Census says he was living with his wife and seven children in Dallas, Oregon. He is buried in the International Order of Foresters Cemetery.
