Note: David Epp's diary says that she died 21 Jul 1838 after a six-week illness at the age of 70 years, 2 months and 14 days. The diary states that her first marriage lasted some 19 years and that she had 4 sons and 6 daughters with her first husband. Her second marriage of some 26 years produced no children. One source says she died 20 Jul 1838. She is linked as a daughter of Helena _____ (b. ca 1740) #528305 and a Mr. Wiebe based on the fact that her son Klaas Wall (b. 15 Feb 1796) is listed in the 1801 Chortitza Colony Census as a grandson of Klaas Krahn (b. ca 1756) #528306 and Helena _____ (b. ca 1740) #528305. Alternatively. Henry Schapansky (page 359 of Mennonite Migrations ...) has Helena _____ (b. ca 1740) #528305 married to a Johann Wiebe. This is based on a letter in the Gerhard Wiebe diary (of Nov 1792) in which Wiebe's nephew Johann Wiebe states that the widow (of) Johann Wiebe died in the spring of 1792 leaving 2 surviving daughters. Schapansky thinks that this Johann Wiebe (and Helena _____) were the parents of Gertruda Wiebe. At this point there is considerable uncertainty as to who her father was.
