Gertrude Louise Acheson

Acheson, Gertrude June 22, 1913 to October 27, 2008 Acheson, Gertrude Gertrude passed away peacefully at Royal Terrace, Palmerston on Monday October 27, 2008. She was formerly of RR #2 Atwood and was born 95 years ago in Fordwich, a daughter of the late William and Hannah (Fraeck) Demerling. Gertrude was a member of Donegal United Church, Donegal U.C.W. and Atwood Chapter of the Rebekah Lodge No. 343.

Beloved wife of the late Stanley Acheson who predeceased her in 1999. Loving mother of Karen and Don Newbigging of Guelph, Bill and Dianne Acheson of Hillsburgh. Special grandma of Brad and Lisa, Mark and Rosemary, Julie and Lyn, Brian and Barbara, Blake and his friend Tina and great-grandma of Chad, Tara (Chris), Jade, Joshua, Brent, Jessica, Emma and Michaela. Sister-in-law of Lloyd and Ruth Acheson of Lucan, Bernice and Lyle Johnson of Listowel, Marlene and Wayne Cummings of Bracebridge, Bunny Acheson of Listowel, Dorothy Acheson of Toronto and Harold Borden of Kitchener.

Predeceased by her sister Verna and her husband Eldon Hardy, one brother in infancy and her step-mother Jean Demerling.

Gertrude's family invites relatives and friends to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home 141 John Street, Atwood (519-356-2382), on Thursday October 30, 2008 from 12 noon until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Michelle Owens officiating. Interment to follow in Donegal Cemetery.
