About Gertrude Van Der Voort
Gertrude's husband Abraham TenEyck Vandervoort was called son-in-law in Henry Blackwell's will, 1844. Henry provided for the education of Abraham's two daughters, Margaret Quick Vandervoort and Ann Vandervoort. Abraham Vandervoort married Gertrude Blackwell on 22 Aug. 1835 in Somerset Co. After Gertrude died in 1842, Abraham remarried Catharine Barkalow on 4 Feb. 1847 in Somerset Co. He and his second wife, the two daughters by Gertrude, and two more children by Catharine, are all listed together in Branchburg Twp., Somerset Co., NJ, in 1850. The daughter Margaret Quick Vandervort (b. about 1837) was named for her maternal grandmother, of course.
