1. Notice the change of Surname.
a. Johannes Tobias (Gideon's father) still had the surname of BENADE, but his children went by the Surname of BENADIE.
b. Both Surname spellings still occur in South Africa.
2. Gideon had two marriages
1. Hendrina Barendina de Beer was Gideon's first wife. I do not know if they had any children.
2. Catherina Maria Pretorius was Gideon's second wife. I presume that Hendrina Barendina de Beer died, because Gideon got remarried to Catherina Maria Pretorius with whom he had 6 children, of which Pieter Johannes Benadie was one (Born 27 August 1825 - presumably in Beaufort West)
