Giles Night Smith

Husband of Elizabeth Moore Mitchell.

One of the oldest legible graves in the cemetery. It is thought to predate the present site and in fact Elizabeth and Giles are thought to have been buried at the Duck Pond the site of the 6th meeting house of Fairforest Church 3/4 miles away and re-interred when the church moved from Duck Pond to the present day site. (By provisions of the deed the Duck Pond site reverted to the heirs of Hezekiah Palmer.) the grave is located in the center of the cemetery near what would have been the original log building on the site.
