Uncle Giorgos got infected by TB after kissing his sister Eleni who was ill with tuberculosis. TB was incurable then and auntie Eleni died later. Soon after uncle Giorgos died as well in Ayia Marina. At the time grandpa Antonis's daughter, Varvara, was in Asomatos with her husband . Grandpa Antonis, who had thus lost two children of this incurable disease, avoided to inform his daughter Varvara of her brother's death fearing her coming to see him and get infected as well. However she somehow heard the sad news and she went on foot in hurry from Asomatos to Ayia Marina to see her brother, and one can imagine her distress!
