Former Kilmichael Boy Killed In Texas

Another name was added to the Kaufman County, Texas, fatality list on Sunday, November 22nd (1942), when a car driven by J. G. Ingram, 23 year old instructor at the British airport, plunged off a high embankment. Mr. Ingram was instantly killed.

Jim Gordon Ingram was born in Kilmichael, Mississippi, June 13, 1919. Upon leaving their native state, the family moved first to Burkburnett, Texas, and later to Conroe, Texas. He received his early education in these two communities. After graduating from high school he entered A. & M. College for one term. He spent one year at John Brown University and two years at Houston University. He took up aviation at Houston, later going to Terrell where he became an instructor at the local airport the early part of the year. The announcement of his death has brought sorrow to the hearts not only of his immediate family but to hosts of friends who loved and appreciated him for his physical fitness, mental alertness and wholesome spirit.

On August 23, 1942, he married Miss Edna Pearl Simpson who survives. He also leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ingram of Conroe; two sisters, Mrs. (Gladys) C. L. Wimberly of Houston and Mrs. (Glenna) Marlin B. Jefcote (Jeffcote) of Port Neches, Texas; and numerous relatives around Kilmichael and in Montgomery County.
