Wright, Gladys Marie Frye, 76, of Wheeling, died Saturday, December 27, 2003 at her residence.
She was born August 18, 1927 in West Alexander, Pa the daughter of the late John Wesley Frye and Eliza Orndoff Frye.
Mrs. Wright was a member of Elm Grove United Methodist Church in Wheeling and the West Alexander American Legion Auxillary 656.
She put up an incredibly brave and strong fight against her illness fighting hard until the end.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Gaylord Wright (1995); a brother, Charles Frye and three sisters, Helen Richey, Inis Clutter and Mabel Durbin.
Surviving are her children, Deborah McCroskey and her husband, Daniel of Wheeling, Janey Johnson and her husband, Michael of Valley Grove, John Wright and his wife, Robin of Wheeling and Frank L. Wright of Benwood; a brother, John A. "Sam" Frye and his wife, Ruth of West Alexander, Pa and three sisters, Opal Kennedy of Burgettstown, Pa, Margaret Russo of Baltimore, Md and Ruth Snyder of Baltimore, Md; 14 grandchildren; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Monday, December 29, 2003 and Tuesday, December 30, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 p m at the Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St., Wheeling where services will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at 11:00 a m with the Reverend Bryan D. Carpenter officiating.
Interment in West Alexander Cemetery, West Alexander, Pa.

WRIGHT-FRYE WEDDING Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Frye of West Alexander, R.D. 1., announce the marriage of their daughter, Gladys to Gaylord Wright, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Wright of West Alexander R.D. 1. The marriage took place Saturday, July 2, 1955 in the Methodist parsonage at 2 p.m. Rev. Bland performing the ceremony. The bride choose a gown of deep pink with navy accessories and wore a corsage of blue and white carnations. As brides maid Miss Ruth Kimmins of Dallas wore a pale blue dress with white accessories and a corsage of pink and white carnations. John Allen Frye, brother of the bride was best man. The bridegroom is employed at the Wellsburg Paper Mill at Wellsburg. After a short wedding trip to Buckeye Lake and other points of interest in Ohio, the couple will make their home with the brides parents for the present.
