GLENN CONKLING DIES AFTER BRIEF ILLNESS

Glenn Allen Conkling, second son of George A and Esa D. Conkling, was born Feb. 16, 1909 in Polk County near Silver Creek and passed away at Omaha on Jan. 3, 1939 at the age of 29 years, 10 months and 13 days.

In 1917 he confessed Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and united with the Congregational Church in Silver Creek, Nebr. During the year 1927 he transferred his membership to the Fairview Methodist Church, of which he was still a member at the time of his death.

He was a kind and loving husband and father, never once thinking of himself, but always striving to help another person.

On December 24, 1938, he entered the Clarkson Hospital in Omaha.

On April 10, 1935 he was united in marriage to Miss Thelma Rose Davis of Shelby, Nebr. To this union two children were born, Ross Walter and Clayton Richard.

Conkling leave to mourn his passing his wife, Mrs. Thelma Conkling; his two sons, Ross Walter and Clayton Richard; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Conkling of Silver Creek, Nebr.; two brothers, Orley W. and wife, Thelma and George C., Jr.; sister Esther Marie; his grand mother Mrs. Mary Cannon of Silver Creek, Nebr.; an aunt Mrs. Eva Willoughby of Omaha, Nebr. along with a number of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist Church in Silver Creek at 1:30 p.m. on January 6, 1939 by Rev. H. F. Beebe, assisted by E. E. Pengelly of Polk, Nebr. Interment was in the Osceola cemetery.
