About Gloria Faye Fraser

Gloria Faye (Purdy) Fraser, of Loudonville died April 22, 2024, at Kingston of Ashland after an extensive illness.

Gloria was born on April 26, 1937, in Glenmont, Holmes Co, Ohio to Lawrence Louis Purdy and Grace I. Bell. She grew up in Glenmont in her early years and graduated in a class of 15 students, in 1955 from the Nashville High School, Nashville Ohio. She worked in the offices of the Former Flxible Bus Co., Loudonville, Ohio

She married Lincoln Labon Fraser, son of Lincoln John (Young) Fraser and Nina May Bliss, of Monticello, Indiana; on August 21, 1960, at Nashville Church of Christ, Nashville, Ohio. Gloria was a lifelong member of the Nashville Church of Christ. Her faith was steadfast and the pillar of strength for her family. In her free time, Gloria enjoyed writing poetry and spending quality time with her grandchildren.

Gloria left Flxible after getting married and devoted her time to her children as a Cub Scout Den Leader, Pack 571, Girl Scout Leader, and Service Unit Director in Loudonville. Gloria helped encourage her sons as they progressed through the ranks to Eagle Scout with Troops 537, Loudonville, and Troop 551, Perrysville. She also encouraged her daughters to advance through Girls Scouts to the highest ranks available as well. As her children grew, she took tax preparation classes to earn extra income for the family. Her husband was an avid mushroom hunter and Gloria enjoyed the fruits of his conquest in the area woods.

Surviving are her, sons; Lincoln Todd (Vickie) Fraser, of Lewis Center, Theodore Louis (Shana) Fraser, of Loudonville, daughters; Tammy Kay Fraser, of Loudonville, Toni Kathleen (Marvin) Swindall, of Perrysville; former daughter-in-law, Stephanie Lilley; Sisters Janice Hendershott-Welsh of Ashland; Sharon (Jim) Boldman of Orville and Sheila Keener of Wooster; two grandsons- Brandon & Ben Fraser, five granddaughters-Amelia Fraser, Keely (Phil) Perry & Taylor Swindall, Sarah (Fraser) Hinton & Samantha Fraser; two great-grandsons; Christian & Collin Perry; and one great-granddaughter, Charlotte Lynn Hinton; multiple nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews and numerous third great-nieces and nephews.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Grace (Bell) Purdy; her husband; Lincoln Labon Fraser, three brothers; James K, Roger D, Jerry L Purdy; one sister; Betty Geitgey, one niece, Susan Clay and one nephew, Eric Daniel Anderson.

Friends may call from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday, April 26, 2024, at Nashville Church of Christ, 13457 State Route 39, Nashville, OH 4461 Funeral services will be held following at 11 am at the church with Pastor Dan Kirtlan officiating. Burial will be in the Nashville Methodist Cemetery.
