Glynnese was born Jan. 23, 1929, in Dryden to Eben and Iva (Macomber) Farrington. She graduated from Wilton Academy in 1947 and from Bliss Business College, where she met her husband, in 1949. She married Joseph Waite of Rumford on June 16, 1949, at the Poland Springs Chapel.
She had one son, Stephen Waite of Rockland; two daughters, Sandy Waite Haskell and her husband, Ric, of Farmington and Mesa, Ariz., and Brenda Philbrick Landry and her husband, Scott, of Wilton; three granddaughters, Casey Philbrick and Renee Landry of Portland and Jessica Waite Bartholomew and husband, Chris, of Downington, Pa.; step-grandchildren, Stephanie, Buddy, Seth and Brooks; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Glynnese was an excellent mother, housekeeper and cook. She was also a telephone operator for New England Tel & Tel in Farmington for 12 years and a professional waitress for many years. Her final job was running the Kawanhee Inn in Weld, where she had her stroke.
She loved going to dances with her husband, and he always said “she was a beautiful dancer.” She also loved to travel and visited many countries. Advertisement
Glynnese is survived by a brother, Thayden Farrington and his wife and loving sister-in-law, Nora, of Dryden; a brother, Milton and his wife, Anna of Farmington.
Glynnese was surprisingly predeceased by her husband, Joseph, who was totally devoted to her. We gave her the best quality of life we could.” She was also predeceased by a brother, Floyd; and her loving parents.
She will be missed by her family, friends and all of the wonderful people who cared for her at Sandy River and through Hospice. Bless you, Mom.
