Christopher Roy Tait was the son of John Tait and Lavinia Tait (nee Chandler) who married in Masterton on 31 May 1887. Gunner in NZFA, file number 2/2557. He was wounded in France, and transported to England. He died of his wounds in the No 1 New Zealand General Hospital at Brockenhurst, New Forest District, Hampshire, England and was buried there in the St Nicholas Churchyard, [Plot A, Row 5, Grave 5.].
