Golda May Ett

Making sense of Golda.........

Also spelled Goldie Mae

Goldie was born and raised in Patterson, New York. Sometime between 1901 - 1915 she married a man who's last name was Watts. They had two children, Harry and Emma.

About 1915, she married Edward M. Rowe. In 1916, their son, Cliff, was born (probably in New Milford). The 1920 US Census shows Goldie and Edward living in Pickett District, New Milford. Goldie's father George was a neighbor as was the Howard and Bertha (Ett) Oviatt family (including Asa, Phoebe and Alice).

By 1930, Goldie was married to Alex Burhance (not sure of the spelling - it shows up in the Census records as Burhans, Barhance, Burhans.... I just picked the spelling in the 1930 Census) as was still living in New Milford.

Her obituary was printed in the Putnam County Courier newspaper on Thursday, July 31st, 1969. I have included the entire page from the newspaper (select the "media" tab above) I will take some time to copy just the obituary later this week.
