Clock factory founded 1836. Manufacturing wholesale and retail of wall, mantle, cuckoo clocks. Specialized in trumpeter and animated music clocks. Last record was in 1905.
Gordian Hettich, developed in cooperation with others a lithographic method to print colored clock faces on zinc sheet metal, since wooded clock faces were not suitable for overseas export - the salty sea air peeled the paint off.
Registered trade marks:
1. circle in side a circle - outer ring has "Eingetragenb" on the top and "Schutzmarke" on the bottom with solid dots separating the two words on each end. The inner circle has a maple leaf, stem up with "G" to the left of the stem an "H" to the right with an "S" in the lower portion of the leaf.
2. upright oval with a man in leaderhosen with walking stick and clock on his jacket. Top of oval has "G.H.S.F." Inside and on the sides of the man are scrolled "S". Bottom of oval has "No." with a space for serial numbers.
There was also a trade mark registered for a Sal. Hettich and Sohn, in Schonach/Black Forest and listed as manufacturer of all types of clocks. Trade mark was "S.H.S."
