Gordon De Ridder, age 91, of Zeeland, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 26, 2009.
Gordon was a member of Immanuel Church where he was on the church board, taught Sunday school and was Sunday school superintendent. He was a lay minister for nursing home and jail services. He had worked for the Holland Sentinel for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 70 years, Jean, in 2007; a son-in-law, Richard Boyd, in 2003; and seven siblings.
He is survived by his children, Shirley and Rev. John Bos of Orlando, FL, Dale and Christel De Ridder of Hudsonville, Elaine and Dan Gentry of Scottville, MI, Robert and Toni De Ridder of Holland, Janet and Robert Terpstra of Holland, Barbara and Elwin Arens of Zeeland, Carole and Dave Nordstrom of Twin Lake, MI; 21 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sister, Arlene and Warren Eding of San Diego, CA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ethel Mokma of Zeeland, Raymond and Gert Mokma of Zeeland, Foster and Pansy Wilt of TN; many nephews and nieces.
