About Gottlieb Emanuel von Haller

Emanuel Gottlieb von Haller, the eldest son of the universal scholar Albrecht von Haller studied from 1747 to 1753 in Göttingen , where his father taught, medicine and botany . In 1753 he returned with his father returned to Bern, where he jurisprudence and history studied. In 1760 he took a trip to Paris. Then he made ​​the Bern government service career. In 1763 he was appointed Vice-librarian, 1765 for war scribe. In 1775, he joined the Grand Council and took over soon after the Office of the United Weibel (Vice-President of the General Court). The latter is regarded as Haller's masterpiece. Volumes one and two published Haller himself, the three to six volumes were published after his death by JJ Stapfer minister to Bern. Haller had left the entire work ready for printing.
