Honorable Granville Philpot was injured badly during a gun fight over Morris killing Robert Philpot. He killed Aaron Morris and a Griffin which made the fourth man credited to him. He was an old veteran that lost a leg in the Battle of Stone River in the Civil War. He was one of the best known men in Kentucky. He was also a Kentucky State Rep.
